Kink of the Week Sept 1-16: Erotic asphyxiation
“Erotic asphyxiation (variously called asphyxiophilia, hypoxyphilia or breath control play) is the intentional restriction of oxygen to the brain for the purposes of sexual arousal. The term autoerotic asphyxiation is used when the act is done by a person to him- or herself. Colloquially, a person engaging in the activity is sometimes called a gasper.” ~ Wikipedia
Breath play is a kink that I know has a bit of tendency to divide the kink community as there are people who believe that it can never truly be carried out completely safely and so shouldn’t ever be done and then there are others who believe it is a form of edge play and that like other forms of edge play educating yourself and taking precautions to be as safe as possible makes it a perfectly valid kink to explore.
So what are your thoughts on this topic? Are you into breath play? If so are you the one having their breath controlled or the one doing the controlling? What form does this take? How did you discover that you were into breath play? Maybe it is something you have never tried but have a yearning to explore? Maybe you have dabbled in it and like it but only in a very limited way?
Or maybe you one of those who thinks it is just too extreme and risky to be indulged in or just have no interest in it whatsoever?
Let’s Get Our Kink On and talk about: Erotic asphyxiation – Breath Play
