Kink of the Week November 16-30: Chastity/Chastity Devices

There is little evidence that chastity devices existed in the middle ages despite their appearance in fiction that supposedly depicts the era. The first historical mention of them is in the 15th century but they only really become popular in the 18th and 19th century when masturbation become something that was regarded as harmful. Chastity became a real virtue and that meant no touching yourself just as much as as it meant no sex and was largely aimed at the female population.

Today the chastity belt or device has been transformed into very popular kink that involves the wearer of the device usually giving up control of their sexual activity to a ‘key holder’ often as part of a D/s relationship. Chastity devices can be worn for a short time during a specific scene to days and sometimes even weeks and months, depending on what has been negotiated between partners. Chastity devices don’t always have to involve a partner either, as some people will wear one purely for their own personal pleasure.

Despite chastity devices originally being designed mainly with women in mind it seems that within the kink community the most popular type of chastity device is the cock cage. I had a look on Fetlife and there are numerous groups relating to male chastity. Some for the wearer and some for the key holder, but most of them for both. One of these group dedicated to male chastity has over 24k members. There are a couple of groups which state they are for all genders but from what I could see posts from or about women wearing chastity devices seemed to be rare.

So, are you a chastity device wearer? Do you have a favourite toy? What is the longest you have gone wearing one? What about wearing a chastity device is such a turn on for you? Maybe you have never had the opportunity but are curious about the idea.

Alternatively are you the key holder? Tell us what it is about controlling someones sex in this way that turns you on? Is it the locking up or the releasing that is your favourite part or maybe what you really love is watching them struggling with being so restricted? Do you tease them while they are all caged up?

It would be fabulous to hear from any women who are into this kink as wearers of chastity belts. There must be some out there who are into this because having looked around you can certainly buy them.

Finally, maybe, you have never dabbled in this kink at all but the idea of it fascinate, excite and/or intrigue or maybe the whole idea of it makes you reach for your hard limits lists?
